Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes

I love blush! It is something I def cannot go a day without bc my face looks boring without it. It def brings out your cheekbones. I love pink, bronzer, red, and am open to trying different brands. I heard a lot of good things for Tarte's Amazonian Clay Blushes so when they had a 50% off sale a while back ago I had to get me some. I am starting to get into baked cosmetics as well!!

IMG_2923
Each blush comes in a sturdy container and I like the fact that the container itself represents the color of the blush. Also the mirror is really big and perfect and each blush has a little plastic circle that covers the powder to prevent it from getting all over the mirror.

IMG_2925
The first two colors I got was natural beauty and tipsy

IMG_2937
Natural beauty looks like a deep red based on the container but is actually a light red color with a light hint of shimmer. Pigment is good on this one and it can be good on light or dark colors

IMG_2936
Tipsy is a peachy with a slight shimmer in it. It would look really nice on light skin people and can give a nice subtle natural look on darker skin people

IMG_2931
The next two colors I got was Charisma and Peaceful

IMG_2935
Charisma is a really shimmery pink/peach color. A little too shimmery for my taste but it will def give you color and highlight

IMG_2933
Peaceful is another heavily shimmer color in light peach. Probably would look really nice on lighter skin.

IMG_3274
The last color I got was dollface bc I love me a pink blush

IMG_2934
Dollface is true to its name a rosy pink matte. I love this one in particular bc there is absolutely no shimmer in it. It would go well with light skin but sad to say is hard to see on darker skin.

Arm swatches of Natural Beauty, Tipsy, Charmisa, Peaceful and Dollface

The blushes come off fairly well, good pigmentation, wasn't really a fan of the shimmery ones though. The blushes weren't powdery at all and blended very easily. I really wished dollface could be seen better on me. Guess I will give it to my sister since she's lighter along with the shimmery ones. Overall I would say they were okay. Not the best like I heard them to be. Just okay.

NYC Bronzers/Blushes

Summertime means bronzing time!

Looking for a new blush or bronzer to go with your new tan?

 On a budget?

IMG_3675
Well let's check out 3 blushes and bronzers I recently got to review from NYC!

IMG_3676
The first bronzer I have for you today is the Sun 'n' bronze bronzing powder. It has a bunch of browns that will combine to create a shimmery summer glow to your face. There are 4 different shades in this collection and the one I got was Fire Island Tan that has a medium and medium dark brown with a hint of a gold shimmer to it. It comes out very golden brown on my skin tone and I feel like J-Lo with it lol! Other colors in this collection have more dramatic colors so if your looking for a color to make your cheekbones pop def check out the other shades.
Price for this bronzer is ~$4.99

The second bronzer I got was the Sun 2 Sun bronzing powder in Terracotta tan. This collection only has two shades one with browns for darker skins like the one above and the other with browns for a lighter skin tone. You will see later on in my hand swatches but the lighter brown hardly shows up on my skintone but that brown looks absolutely amazing on my color. Very happy with how it looks.
Price ~$4.99

Not feeling like applying a bronzer? Prefer a little color to your cheeks instead? Well then the Color wheel Face powder is for you! I am not sure why it is called face powder bc it makes it seem like its a foundation but I def used the one I got as a blush bc its a pink color. Pink berry is what I got and I am not sure if it is an old color or one that will be coming out soon but it is not shown on the NYC website.  Pink berry has a bunch of purples and pinks that will combine to give you a natural blush color that is perfect to wear for work. There are four colors in the current collection and there is one that is called pink cheek glow that has pinks and brown color in it. It looks beautiful and when I get the chance I def want to try that one out.
Price ~$4.99

Coastal Scents Blushed Too Palette

IMG_3570
I love blush! So I was on the hunt for a cheap but nice palette where I could have a variety of blushes to achieve a bunch of looks. A year ago when I first started blogging I found Coastal Scents a Florida based company that sells extremely affordable cosmetics. They recently just came out with the Blush Too palette tht I just had to try.

IMG_3572
This palette is a 10 pan one with a bunch of different types of colors in it sure enough to fit everyone's skin color. I hate that my camera made them all look lighter but you will see on my swatches their true color. In this palette some blushes are matte while others are pearl so and each pressed powder comes off smoothly.

IMG_3573
On this side there are light pink and purple blushes. I bet your jaw dropped when I said purple huh?
IMG_3574
On the other side are more coral and a neutral one.

Ready to see the swatches?

I apologize because I did the swatches for the top row and the bottom instead of breaking them into sections like I did for the other pictures.
IMG_3576
While the colors in the palette don't have a name I will just describe the color and type of blush it is.
1- Rosy light matte color. Might not look great on my skintone but I bet it would look amazing on a lighter one.
2. Matte dusty rose color-its a mixture between brown and pink. This would be a perfect natural color for lighter skin tones
3. Pearl shimmery light pink.
4- Darker shimmery dusty pink
5- Orange shimmery color. You would be surprised that it can give you a really nice look but a little goes a long way!

IMG_3578
6- Matte Lavender purple. I know what your saying lavender? I was like maybe they accidently put a eyeshadow on here but this colors looks amazing on my skin tone. My favorite color in the palette and I am so surprised by that.
7- Matte rosey purple. Another color to give you a nice natural color to your cheeks
8- Darker pink-maroon matte color. Apply a little amount at first then add on to get your desired look.
9- Matte Brown color. Great to give you that bronze look for the summer
10- Light shimmery pink-brown color. Good for natural and bronze color for the summer.

Overall, the pigments in this palette are amazing! A little goes a long way for sure! Trust me! You don't need much to get the look you want! I love the variety of colors and uniqueness as I honestly would have never thought a purple color would make a good blush! Def got me to think outside the box and opens my eyes to try colors I normally would not! And best of all the price is amazing! even college student can afford it. Coastal scents always has sales so keep any eye out!

Price $15.95

Beauty Product Showdown Thursday- Blush

Happy Thursday all! Can you believe the weekend is almost here! I can't wait!!! Today's beauty product showdown and I thought it would be good to compare a drug store beauty brand vs a more expensive designer brand in Blush Showdown!

So let's get started!

IMG_3320
The contender is the Stick Blush ($6) by NYX Cosmetics

vs.....

IMG_3322
Make Up For Ever's HD Blush in #6 ($26)

IMG_3325
The HD blush comes in a lotion like bottle and the NYX blush comes in a stick (apologies this picture has them reversed)

IMG_3323
To use the NYX stick blush you simply draw a line across your cheek bone and then blend it in. It has good pigmentation and you can either add more color to it or blend it in more to make it lighter. But, while the color is great at first by the end of the day you don't have much left.

For the HD Blush, you squeeze a button size amount onto your arm and I like to make little dots across my face. The texture is super creamy so its really easy to blend. Do NOT add alot because this blush is extremely pigmented!!! A little goes a long way for this! You def get really good coverage as well.

After testing and comparing this products for over a week hands down

the winner is..

Make Up For Ever HD Blush

Although the NYX is more affordable I would def splurge to get the HD cream bc it has amazing pigmentation, lasts for a long time and overall I love the consistency of it! My sister even tried it out the other day when I was home and raved about it! You know she wished I would ACCIDENTLY have left it there when I left! I really wanted to like the NYX bc its a really cool package and convenient but I just didn't like that longeivity of the product. But def if your on a budget just re-touch it up often!
