Sneak Peeq Mystery Box

I have been hearing about Sneak Peeq for a while now. People say they get extremely good deals on beauty products so I decided to join and check it out. I joined around December and that's when I saw the Very Merry Mystery Box. I love suprises so I thought why not give it a try. There were 3 themes and I picked the Holiday Glam girl box which was supposed to have beauty, makeup and girly stuff in it plus it said items in there might be from Lord & Berry, Benefit Cosmetics or Mineralogie. That was all I needed to convince me to get it.

When the box arrived I was so excited bc it was big and I couldn't wait to see what I got inside.

Here is what I got in my box.

The first thing I got was the Lash Card ($6.99) that contained little papers that you use as shields your eyelid to prevent smearing and clumping of your mascara. I kind of chuckled when I saw this bc well it was kind of lame. I hate to say it but I probably won't ever use it. After 10+ years of applying makeup I think I have my mascara technique down. Maybe it would be nice to beginners?

The next thing in my box Uno Magnetic Jewelry ($19.99) which was another thing I laughed when I saw. Now I prefer real jewlry instead of magnetic one's and to me it looked like beads you would get for Mardi Gras. But my nephew had fun with it and even lost the magnetic piece. So I won't be using this either.

I was losing hope until I saw the third product in my box which is La Fresh Makeup Remover Wipes. I don't think I ever tried this eco-friendly brand but I could def use makeup remover since I had forgotten my wipes back at home. They smell nice and aren't rough around your skin. On La Fresh's website I seen that a 54 pack of wipes is $19.99 so I am assuming this would be $9.99.

Above the wipes I also got an eyeliner that I totally forgot at home and didn't remember who the company was. It wasn't great anyways and didn't have great black pigment like I usually go for in my liners.

IMG_2026
The final product in my mystery box was a Glam Mat (19.95) a little silicone thing you can place your curling iron on. I don't think I have ever burned anything before with my curler except my neck lol so I prob won't be using it. It's nice if you need it but I also don't curl my hair enough.

Overall, I completely disliked this mystery box. I didn't think it was worth 29.00 for me bc I can't honestly say I would use anything besides the makeup remover wipes. As a college student it kills me that I wasted $30 practically and yeah probably won't ever get a mystery box again. Too bad! But I def will try buying things they sale.

NovaWhite Whitening Gel

I was never a coffee girl...until I started working full-time and taking two classes (Antatomy/physiology and microbiology both with a lab) at nights. Let's just say I def need me cup of coffee in the mornings now a days. But I noticed I started to get the coffee breath and my teeth which are normally pretty white starting to get a little discolored. I was on the hunt to find a whitener that worked and was thrilled when I was contacted by NovaWhite. Founded in 2006 by three University of Tennessee graduates, NovaWhite has become one of the top 10 at home teeth marketing companies. And today I want to show you how there products work.

The whitening gel in NovaWhite contains 22% Carbamide Peroxide. It has a minty flavor taste to it and def isn't very gritty or anything like that.

Another thing that was really cool is the mouthpieces that NovaWhite has to offer have the ability to be molded to your teeth! All you have to do is dip the mouthpiece in boiling water for 15 sec to make it wilt and then you put it on your teeth to cool and you have a personalized mouthpiece to your teeth! That was one thing that I thought was awesome!
DSC_3014
Leaving your mouthpieces too long in the water causes them to shrink and that is just what I did so of course they didn't fit that well. But if you do it right they will come out good! I did take a goofy picture with it on! lol!
DSC_3008
Novawhite suggests you leave the mouthpiece on for 1-3 hours. Unfortunately I was only able to leave it for 30 minutes. I suggest doing it when you are all alone bc it is really hard to talk with someone when you have this mouth. But the gel didn't burn my gums, it wasn't really uncomfortable thick and the mouthpiece being molded to my teeth helped me from being uncomfortable.

Here is my teeth 30 minutes later. I def saw some of the nasty discoloration from my coffee drinking days get better. Best of all you can repeat this process once per day until you achieve your desired shade of white.

I don't know about you but I would def love to use this product more until I get my pearly white teeth back!

Also this would make a perfect gift for yourself since you know the holidays are coming and you want to have nice bright white teeth for all the pictures you will be taking! The only drawback is for a college student like myself it is a little more on the pricey side but teeth whitening strips even cost a lot and I like that I can feel comfortable with a customized mouthpiece instead of a strip falling off my mouth.

What do you think??

Tweezerman Beauty Tools

Today I thought I would do a different review on a beauty related product for your eyebrows. As women, we are constantly having to pluck our eyebrows. When I was younger I had a uni-brow so I am constantly shaping my brows. I used to get cheap tweezers at the department stores but hated the constant tugging I had to just to remove one little eyebrow hair. It also doesn't help that I have really thick hair. Today I have the privilege of going over some of products for the popular company Tweezerman.

The first thing I wanted to talk about is the different types of products Tweezerman offers.  The Point tweezer, is a thin little tweezer that is good for those tiny little hairs you can't get with your regular slant tweezer. It also is good for precision when you want to remove that one little hair from your eyebrows that is near a whole of other hairs. My favorite, the slant tweezers, helps you remove all of the little/long eyebrow hairs easily. Made of stainless steel this tweezers hurt less than other brands even when removing the most thickest hair! You can tell how good quality these tweezers are the first time you use it and you are surprised by how pain-free it is removing your hairs.

Another really cool type of tweezers is the Pointed Slant tweezer. It combines the precision and slant expertise of the first two tweezers. Two products combined to help you shape your brows.

Now if you don't like the plain old silver tweezer, Tweezerman offers awesome designed tweezers. The first is the Satin Etched Zebra Slanted tweezer and the second one is a city design tweezer. Perfect for those who love unique things.

Traveling for a bit and don't want to take your full-size tweezers? No problem, Tweezerman has just created Pop of Op Mini Tweezers. I love color and why not have my tweezers look cute too! Mine is in  lavender and sky blue but there is also 2 others in pink w/dark blue and sky blue w/coral. I didn't include this in the picture but it comes in a little plastic tube to protect it when it is with for example in your luggage.

Just like your hair needs to be done your eyebrows do to. Don't you just hate it when you have that one eyebrow hair sticking out, longer than others or just a plain old mess? Well, Tweezerman offers the necessary essentials to fix that. You can trim your brows with their scissors and brush shaping tools (left side) you can define and shape your brows easily with these tools. What about mischievous little eyebrow strays that are sticking up/out? Just like you put gel in your hair, Tweezerman offers Brow Mousse to tame those little bad boys you just brush on a little bit of this gel and brush those bad boys down. Lastly something I will def be using, the folding ILashcomb. Have some clumps in your eyelashes, with this comb all you ned to do is comb this across your lashes to leave your lashes long, clump-free and fabulous!

We've all done it accidentally take a little too much brows. I know I have little bald spots per say on my brows. Another awesome product is the eyenhance pencil and sharpener perfect for filling on those holes of all those brows your removed. Or you can also use this to shape your brows.

By correctly using all of the above products you can achieve amazing eyebrows. Mine aren't amazing but they certainly aren't as bad as they use to be. You can def tell how great quality all of these products are. About year ago I bought my first tweezerman tweezer and I must admit I will never get any other brand these are the best by far!

Price $15-22

My Shower Regimen

I love to share with you all the products I use. Here is what I use in the shower everyday.
  • Body- Olay Bodywash the rose extract one- love the smell of this bodywash.
  • Garnier Sleek & Shine shampoo and conditioner- When I first moved to Texas my hair was the victim of bad water hardness. It got dry and the ends especially got crunchy! I got this from a Tryology program to try and review and OMG I've been using it for 2 weeks and my ends have been revitalized, my hair has gotten shiny, and so soft.
  • Simple Facial Wash Gel- I've been using this to wash my face it really is so gentle that my little pimples on my forehead from my bangs covering it has gone away. It also doesn't have a strong smell or smell at all. I am truly impressed.

Daily/Weekly Cleaning of You Makeup Brushes

Don't forget to wash your makeup brushes at least once a week. Because as a Biologist I know that bacteria can get on your brushes if they are not cleaned properly and just imagine what your putting on your eyes. Yuck! I usually spray my brushes down after I use them with Sephora's Daily Makeup Brush Cleaner. Just a quick few sprays and wipe your brush on a paper towel. Then every weekend I will wash my brushes with makeup brush shampoo (not pictured) but also from Sephora. I just moisten my brushes, drop a dime size of shampoo and swirl each brush in it, rinse the shampoo out, and then let each brush dry at an angle on a paper towel.

Doing this will ensure that no bacteria other foreign materials will inhabit on your brushes and thus have the potential to be in contact with your eye area. It also removes traces of the shadows you used so the next time you use it you will get that pink color you want and not a mixture of the pink and the purple you used yesterday.

How I turned my Computer desk into a Makeup Desk

My bf and I are both college students. So that means were broke lol. I can't afford an expensive makeup vanity so I have to settle for the next best thing. This desk if from Office max and was 50% off. So it was only $65. It was my goal to turn it into my makeup headquarters.

I love that it has two mini shelves in the middle which is where I put my sephora OPI mini's and my Art Deco polishes. You probably can tell I am an organized freak and put stuff in order by colors lol. On the top I have a nail shelf that I got at a beauty supply store in San Jose, CA for I believe $15.
Then I lined the shelf with more nail colors. The two open drawers also contain things; The right has a acrylic lipstick holder and all my nail tools: files, clippers, cuticle oil. And the right contains my eyeshadows and palettes.

For the writing desk area (sorry its so messy). I lined it with my perfumes on the left. Some glass vases that I got from the dollar tree that hold my makeup brushes, my brush cleaner/shampoo, my nail polish remover in that bottle like you see at the nail place. And finally a acrylic holder that separates the Q-tips, cotton balls, and makeup pads that I got at the container store.

I didn't have a drawer like all the nice makeup tables had so I did the next best thing and made one. I bought acrylic holders from the container store as well in various sizes: S, M, and L. It's amazing how they all fit in the keyboard holder. When you pull it out, it looks just like a drawer its awesome!

Now that eventually my polish/nail collection will grow but for now I am satisfied with what I have. I also got a little painting for a red high heel that I will hang above the desk.

So see, even college students can make turn a desk into an awesome makeup area.

Prices: Lip stick holder-$9.99
3 door acrylic separater-$12.99
Stackable trays-2.99 to 4.99 (S,M,L)

You can get these at containerstore.com or at any of their locations

You can also get these at Target I heard.
