December ipsy Bag

It's Beauty subscription time!! I always get excited when I get my ipsy bag. They started off slow but they are getting better and better these last few months!

IMG_1848
This is by far my favorite bag! It's a grey color and the best quality in all the bags I've gotten thus far..

IMG_1849
You ready to see what I got??

IMG_1850
In my bag this month..
1.  NYX Loose Pearl Shadow -this came in a grey shimmery color. It's cute but I probably won't use it.
2. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Zero I love Urban Decay so of course I was happy to get a black liner from them. It works well and glides on easier Perversion is still my #1 favorite one but this one works good as well.
3, Mirabella Prime for Face & Eyes- Tried it out it's okay I prefer my Urban Decay
4. Be a Bomshell in Hot mess-Good consistency, more of a lighter red color, the only thing I have to admit is that I wish it would have better staining abilities.
5. Mai Couture Highlighter Paper- This paper is pretty cool that I had to show you. You just tear a sheet out of the little book and wipe across your cheek bones and you get amazing highlight.

IMG_1860
I just swiped it once! Now I am usually not a shimmery fan but it looked really cool on my skintone! Def new fan of this brand.

Overall, I would rate this months bag as a 8.5 out of 10. MyGlam is def stepping it up with THREE bags in a row with AMAZING stuff. Although I wasn't fond of everything you still get an amazing products as compared to other beatuy subscroptions. I don't know about you but I can't wait for the Januaru bag and actually ordered a 6 month subscription as some X-mas gifts for family..... Go MyGlam!!!

CG Cirque du Soleil Collection

Check out some of the swatches to China Glaze's Cirque du Soleil collection! Consisting of 12 polishes I have swatches of six of those. Each polish is applied with two coats followed by a top coat

IMG_1561
The first three colors are light pastel and neon one's: Surreal Appeal, Def Defying, and Escaping Reality

IMG_1676
The first polish is Surreal Appeal, a coral color. So pretty. Looks amazing on with brown skin and I love it!

IMG_1629
Def Defying is a lime green color. Really cute and bright and yeah def another favorite!

IMG_1679
Escaping Reality is a neon pink color another really cute color. I am def in love with these three colors. My favorite of what I have.

DSC_3023
The last 3 polishes are: Running in Circles, It's a Trap-Eze and Whirled Away

IMG_1688
Running of Circles is a shimmery green color. You can def use this for an X-mas design. It was my least favorite of the bunch bc I just didn't feel there was anything special about it.

IMG_1767
It's a Trap-Eze is a really cool white polish with tons of different colors of glitter. This def represents cirque du soleil really well. My #1 favorite of the bunch!

IMG_1637
Finally the last polish is Whirled away a black and white glitter polish that will make your mani bolder! I wish I could have gotten more white hex's out and it would of looked even better!

Overall, I love how there is so many diff varieties of color in the Cirque du Soleil collection sure to have everyone fall in love with one. As always CG is amazing applies well, dries smooth and quickly and gives a great shine! Can't wait to see what the next collections are in 2013!!

Styli-Style Part 3

Today is the final installment of the three part review of the newly re-launched Styli-Style Cosmetic Brand. Today’s them is eyes. I have three different types of products to talk about today: eyeliner, mascara and eyeshadow sticks.
IMG_1745
The first product I tried was the Line & Seal 24-Semi permanent eye liner in Black Glitter ($5.99)

IMG_1746
While I am not a fan of glitter eyeliner as other one’s I have used irritate my eyes, I will say that this liner did not make my eyes red, had good pigmentation and stayed for a sufficient amount of time

IMG_1733
It def is better than a lot of other drug store brands and if the glitter liner gave good pigmentation I am sure the plain black one will give even better color!
IMG_1743
The next thing that was reviewed was the Flat Eye Pencil-Bendable Eye liner ($5.99)

IMG_1744
When I first saw this I thought it was eyeshadow since it was a brown color as I usually only use black for liner. The shape of this flat pencil is really cool.

IMG_1734
You can get every angle of your eye with it using it as a shadow and when used with a primer it can stay on fairly well. You could probably get some really good smokey one’s with the darker colors like black.
DSC_3036
Also in their collection is the It’s a breeze cooling Gel Shadow stick in Star bright and Liliac Smack ($5.49)

IMG_1635

IMG_1636
I probably should have used a primer first but I couldn’t get as much pigment out of the purple one as I did with the yellow. The pencils are nice bc you can easy glide it along your entire eyelid but as I mentioned I wasn’t entirely happy with the color. Maybe the other darker pencils come out better.

IMG_1752
And finally, the last product I got to try out was the Colorlash mascara in Blue and black ($6.99)

IMG_1749
This mascara’s are good for lengthening more than they are for volume. The applicator is good and allows an even distribution of the mascara without giving clumps. I know I would like eventually see a volumizing mascara in perhaps a future collection. But overall, I did like the lengthening abilities and if you’re looking for natural looking eyes with length then this is def a mascara you can try out.
Overall, I enjoyed the liner (except the glitter), The liner pencil were really cool and I would probably use them as eyeshadow, wasn't really excited about the shadow stick's I tried as they didn't give too much color and would like the mascara even better if it was added volume to the lashes..but overall some of these are def better then drug store brands I have tried especially in the eye liner dept.

Products are starting to become available throughout the USA at Rite Aid, Harmon, Sears and select beauty supply stores. Styli Style Face Products

I am back for part 2 of reviews of the newly relaunched Cosmetic Company, Styli Style. Today's theme is face products.

DSC_3031
Something that is def starting to become popular in the cosmetics world is bronzer and blush papers that allow you to apply face product on your cheeks while also blotting away excess oil. Styli-Style has two types of blotting papers in their collection a Bronze & Blush. $3.99

IMG_1721
To the left is the pink blush or Smitten while on the right is the bronzer or Radiant. I like the box as you slide this area out but wish that there was either a thin divider between each sheet or maybe that you picked it up upside down as I always got blush/bronzer when picking up a paper.

IMG_1722
Sorry that they are the wrong way and the pink blotting is on the right instead of the left but I did a quick swatch of both papers to show you how the colors come out on my skin tone. I briefly did a quick wipe across my arm and as you can see the color comes off pretty well. If you want a more dramatic look just simply keep wiping the color to achieve your desired look. I really liked the bronzer it was nice and looked well with my skin tone. I wish the blush had a little less glitter on it but other than thought the color was nice as well.
DSC_3028
Now if blotting papers are not your thing you can use the blush sticks instead. There are 5 colors in the
Glide-on Blush Stick including Bittersweet and Peachy Keen $5.99.

DSC_3029\
Both glide on blush sticks are easy to use just simply twist the bottom to allow the blush to come up and what I do is make a line across my cheek bone starting from my the mid line outward and then I take my finger but you can also use a blush brush and in a circular motion move outward towards my hair.

DSC_3030
Bittersweet is a brown/red color and peachy keen is a coral/pink color. I drew a quick line on my arm so the pigment is well and you have the option of either making it darker by applying more or lightening it by blotting it with paper. Either way you can get some great looks!

IMG_1739
The last face product I will be talking about is the Cool & covered Aloe Concealer in Bisque $5.99

IMG_1741
This cute little product looks like a big pill and twists to bring out a concealer.

IMG_1735
Just simply draw a line on your under eye area or areas with large pores you want to cover and blend it in. I just love the size and shape of this product and can easily pop it into any makeup/work bag.

Overall, I love the sizes of all the face products. I think there great to take with you on the go for quick touch ups and think that each products gives pretty good pigment. And I didn't have an issue with the longevity of each product. Plus all of the products are very affordable.

Above The Curve Nail Polish

Excited to show you a new collection from an Indie polish group I am new to called Above the curve nail polish. The first thing that sets apart this polish brand from others is their mission to aide in the awareness of Shriner's Hospital for Children and Scoliosis. As a cell and molecular biologist who did research on understanding early congenital disorders such as congenital scoliosis I think it is absolutely amazing that they donate $1 of every bottle sold to Shriner's Hospital for Children. ATC has released 3 collection sin the last few weeks including: the Narnia inspired collection, Holiday Collection and the Fallen Angel Collection which I will be reviewing today. Consistenting of 4 polishes the Fallen angel contains mostly hologrpahic polishes followed by one regular polish.

IMG_1837
Bottle shots of the Fallen Angel collection in Arch Angel, Risen Angel, Divine Angel and Fallen Angel. All swatches were done with 3 coats to ensure full coverage followed by a top coat.

IMG_1903
Arch angel is a soft lilac polish with iridescent glitter in it . This polish is the only one in the collection that isn't holographic. Out of all the polishes I found this one to be a little bit thicker than the others and it wouldn't dry as smooth as uniform as I would have liked but I really really liked the color. I think if it was a little more thinner it would be even better.

IMG_1882
Risen Angel is my favorite of the group. It is a plum violet color with beautiful holographic shimmer to it. The polish went on smooth and uniform dried quickly.

IMG_1894
Divine Angel is a green blue color. I feel like the image doesn't give the polish the true beauty it is in person. I am by all means not a blue nail polish lover and I really liked how well it went my skin tone.

IMG_1902
Fallen angel which I love the name and think it is perfect for this color. A black pigment with holographic color that also is a favorite of the black holographic polishes I have seen.

IMG_1881
I just wanted to show a side nail shot of Risen angel polish to show you the great coverage the polishes give off.

Overall, I liked the holographic polishes, they went on great and dried fast. I really wish the Arch angel was a little bit thinner bc I love the color and especially like how well it looks on my skin tone.

Looking for Christmas gifts for that nail polish loving sister, mother, friend, family member. Check out all the collections on any of the Above the Curve Nail Polish Pages:

Also don't forget that $1 of every polish you get is donated to the Shriner's Hospital for Children

Styli Style Cosmetic Company Re-Launch

Ahhh it feels amazing to be back to full time blogging. First off I would like to say thank you for sticking around with me through this whole semester. I am so excited to get back to reviewing and finding some new and amazing beauty products for you all.

A few weeks ago an email from a cosmetic brand called Styli-style who was around in 2001 then kind of went of the radar for a little while but is not back and wants to relaunch their brand. So when I got asked to try out a bunch of there new products I was very happy to be apart of it! I decided to break up reviews into a few days bc I didn't want to overwhelm you guys with a bunch of things so todays theme is: Lips!!

I am so excited not only introduce your to an essentialyl new brand but even more excited to try out new products that not many have tried out so let's do this!!

Today I got three different lip products to talk about: Give me glossy lipstick,  The Glitter Punch 24-Gel Lip stain, and there Lip paint
IMG_1747
Lipstick ($5.99) and Glitter Lip stain ($6.49)
IMG_1844
Lip paint ($5.99)

IMG_1748
At the top is the Give me Lip Glossy Lipstick Pencil in Frolicking 40's. Kind of like a big crayon this lipstick pencil is easy to use just apply it to your lips and your done

At the bottom is the Glitter Punch 24-Gel Lip Stain in Show Stopper this is a twisty tube of lipstain that you just rub on your lips with a brush.

IMG_1738
I apologize that these are opposite of the other pictures but the glitter lip stain in Show Stopper is to the left. I am not a fan of glitter but I do like the pigmentation. It has a pretty good consistency not to thick or thin. I would probably use it minus the glitter. The right swatch shows the lipstick pencil in Frolicking 40's which is a deep maroon red color. Kind of reminds me of a vampire lol.

IMG_1871
It actually looked really nice on me. I thought it was going to be really dark but it was just right. The pencil glides on smoothly and the color stays for a while. Def pleased with this one.

IMG_1845
The last lip product I got to try was the Lip Paint in City Slicker. It has a little paint brush to apply the gloss.
IMG_1846
City Slicker is a red red gloss with pretty good shine. I def had to try it on!

Untitled
The lip paint is def my favorite of the three I got to try. Love the shine and color it gave! I can't wait to wear this on my going out looks!

Overall, I am quite pleased with this products. While I didn't really care for the glitter lip stain, I def would use the lip pencil and very much will be using my lip paint. Can't wait to check out what other colors they have.

Pixi Trio

Check out some recently released products from Pxix Beauty.  Known as the Pixi Trio, this set comes with three amazing products to give you perfect eyes and brows!

IMG_1792
First off in the collection is the Large Lash Mascara

IMG_1796
In bold black, this mascara can give you the amazing lengthening you so desperately want to achieve. Made from bamboo super ingredients and vitamins, this mascara will nourish and help lashes grow while giving your lashes an amazing look.

IMG_1797
The applicator for the mascara is also perfect at giving even distribution of mascara (when applied correctly using the wiggle wand method starting at the root moving outward) with no clumps, long lashes and the perfect volume. It's also water resistant and smudge-proof and will stay on well for the entire day.

IMG_1801
I have been on the hunt for a good liquid eye liner pen for a while. Most don't off evenly, fade in like 10 minutes and just give crappy results. So I have to admit I was extremely skeptical when I seen this liner.

IMG_1803
Yes the tip is nice but how does it come off.

IMG_1804
I just did one quick stroke on my arm. I was in awe with how smooth and easy it applied. You see uniform distrubution of the liner, no spots. Best of all its water prrof and dries really quick. I was able to apply it on in the morning and come home with a flawless look. I can't believe after trying over 5 different liquid pen liners I have finally found an amazing one!! woo hoo!

IMG_1805
The last item in the Pixi Trio is the Natural Brow duo. Offering a brow pencil on one side and a gel to tame brow hair on the other this tool will help you achieve nice brows that don't have flyaways. Trust me I have had that happen especially when I get out of the shower.

IMG_1808
There didn't seem to be a color name on it but it def was a brown color. I don't know if it comes in more colors or just this one. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the pencil bc I have extremely black hair and it probably wouldn't have shown well.

IMG_1809
It doesn't come off too dark and it wasn't as easy to apply as I would have thought. I would prefer it to be more easily to apply.

IMG_1811
I did try the gel to tame those little flyaways I get from putting a towel on my head. It looks brown but I didn't see a color to it and it def did it's job. Kind of excited to start using this product. Def never used it before.

IMG_1817

Here is how the final look came out. I apologize as I did a really crappy job at my liner today but I was in a hurry. Notice my nice long lashes and the dark liner that lasted all day long. Since I am use to applying liner by an angle brush I def need to work on drawing with a pen more. The liner was def my favorite as I have had no luck in finding a good one until now... Cam't wait to create more looks with this and as this was my first time trying Pixi Beauty products I can't wait to see what other stuff they have. Def was impressed with all of them!
