Rocksbox Jewelry Subscription

So we've seen lots of beauty box subscriptions so I thought I would mix it up and try my very first jewelry subscription called Rocksbox. This subscription consists of sending you 3 jewelry pieces from the latest designers. I am an iFabbo member so got the amazing opportunity to get a 6 month subscription of this company to try.

IMG_4041
The first thing you do when you sign up is do a bunch of surveys so they could get a good idea of what type of jewelry you like. As for me I prefer rings, earrings and necklaces. Here is how the box looks white with a pink bow on it.

IMG_4042
Gifts are wrapped in tissue paper with another bow.

IMG_4043
One thing I like is that each jewelry piece comes in its own bag.

Here is what I got in this months bag...

IMG_4044
The first piece I got was the Serefina Crystal Daggar Studs in Pyrite. While these look really cool and unique I just don't like the idea of trying and wearing earrings that other people might have used.

IMG_4046
The second piece of jewelry I got was Lucas Jack Arch Ring in rose quartx. Love the color of the piece and it looked good on my skintone but not a fan of the oval shape. Think it would have been better with a different shape.

IMG_4047
The final piece I got was a Trina Turk Notorious Resin Collar. It's cute but I honestly don't think the necklace is anything special to me personally.

IMG_4048

Prepare to have your mouths dropped!  This is the retail price of the pieces on the left and the members price. As a college student I def could not afford to buy these pieces but having the opportunity to use and wear them sounds fun! So I would say the only piece I liked was the ring color but not shape. I got the chance to tell Rocksbox if I disliked or liked my box. Will send it in tomorrow and can't wait to see what the next box has!!!

Price-$15

July 2013 Ipsy Bag

It's Beauty subscription time! Since its summer this months theme was Beach Beauty!  The bag we got this month was a transparent bright pink color !!

So let's see what I got this month!!

IMG_4267

1.  Sexy Hair Weather Proof Humidity Resistant SprayThis would have been nice in Dallas but I can't wait to try it
2. BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Sample - What a perfect surprise for my move back to California. Love the theme and can't wait to try the colors
3. Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral CrushPretty color! Can't wait to try.
 4. Coola Mineral Face SPF 20-Never heard of mineral foundation so lets see how it works!
5derma a Microdermabrasion Scrub -Always wanted to try a microdermabrasion scrub so yay for this!

IMG_4271
Something I was sad to see was my bag was already falling apart. And I wasn't really fond of the bag looked kind of cheapy if you ask me. They have had some amazing bags before and basically this was not one of them.

Overall, while I was not fond of the bag itself I do enjoy the products I got! I will def be trying each product and if I had to choose between a not good bag and good products I would choose good products hands down! Can't wait to see what I get next month!!

Did you enjoy your bag this month?

MyGlam is a monthly sample program that delivers 4-5 beauty products in a design makeup bag that changes each month. Some items sent are samples while others are full-of right now they are sold out. Just keep checking, I waited for about a month and half before I got in.  You can subscribe to them by visiting myglam.com

Olay Wet Cleansing Cloths

I am the type of person that when I love something I will only use that product I love! But as a beauty blogger I really need to step out of the box so to speak. My all time favorite makeup remover is Clean & Clear but I think its about time to start trying out other brands! So when I was grocery shopping the other day I seen the Olay Wet Cleansing Cloths and decided to give them a try.

IMG_4114
Since my skin is pretty good in regards to sensitivity I decided to get the normal kind. The packaging says these wipes remove even waterproof makeup and will leave skin soft. The first thing I noticed after a few days is the seal loses its effectiveness easily. So I had to keep placing it upside down to prevent the seal from opening and drying the wipes out.

IMG_4115
The size of the wipes itself are nice not as big as others I see so I don't feel as guilty using one a day. But you could still get by using half a wipe. The smell is nice and light and not too overwhelming and the wipes are very moist so your not wiping your face with a dried rough cloth. I had my typical makeup on I wear at work: Mascara and bottom eyeliner.

IMG_4120
I must of wiped my eyes at least 10 times with the wipes bc I couldn't get my eye liner out. My eyes started stinging a little bit from wiping them so much and I am not sure if it was due to the fact that I wiped it so many times or the wipe itself. Here is a shot of my eyes after wiping it a bunch of times you can still see liner at the bottom of my right lower eyelid more than the left.

Overall, I wasn't impressed with these. When I take off my makeup in the night I am sleepy and just want to take it off and go to bed so the Olay wipes would be way too much work for me! I would like to stick to my Clean & Clear but I want to try other brands. So off to find better makeup wipes!!

Price- Approximately $6-7 depending on the store you go to

Where to find- Any drug stores-CVS, Walgreens, Target, Walmart, etc.

BIC Soleil Collection

Okay I have to admit when its winter I get really lazy to shave my legs. I mean no one is going to see them right?? I know bad!!! Well lets just say I can't pull that off during the summer bc its super hot here in Dallas. I need shorts and therefore smooth flawless legs!

But what is a good razor to use??

Thanks to BIC, I got the chance to review two different razors in the Soleil Collection.

IMG_4247
The two razors I got to review are the BIC Soleil Bella and Shave & Trim Razors

IMG_4252
The Bic Soleil Shave & Trim is made specifically for the Bikini area.

IMG_4248
Consisting of 3 blades the Shave & Trim razor has a vitamin lubricating strip to create a flawless smooth shaving shave in a sensitive area. I am really picky when using razors because I want one that shaves my hair and doesn't leave me bumps and precisely removes hair. For a bikini razor this works well on that delicate area.

IMG_4249
Also included with this razor is a slide off trimmer head for simple bikini trimming (apologies for the fuzzy in the pic)

IMG_4251
The BIC Soleil Bella is the other razor I got to try out

IMG_4250
Consisting of four blades this razor has a soothing moisture strip enriched in coconut milk. Let me just say it shaved my leg hair like butter leaving no red bumps leaving flawless legs that I can show with my shorts and sandals.

I am so excited for the summer and ready to wear my bathing suit and/or shorts thanks to some great razors I tried from BIC.

Would you love to try either one of these razors?? Well guess what BIC has donated 5 samples of each to giveaway to 5 lucky winners!! That's right 5 people will get to try both razors reviewed today! Details will be up Friday!!!

Price- Varies ~$6-7 Bella, S~$7.49 Shave & Trim
Where to find - any drug stores- Walgreens, Target, CVS, Walmart or beauty stores-Ulta

Barielle Brilliant Colors Collection

I am so excited to now be part of the Barielle Blogger family and to show you swatches to the very first collection I got to review, the Brilliant Color Collection.

IMG_4075
This collection consists of the 5 following colors: High Marks Purple, Smarty Pants Pink, Straight A Coral, Head of the Class Green,  and Magna Cum Laude Turquoise. As a college student I just love the fact that they have college them named! How fun!

IMG_4076
High Marks Purple wine kind of purple color. Not a violet but not a lavender, right in between. This would be a great base color for nail designs

IMG_4089
Smart Pants Pink is a bubble gum pink color. I see this color a lot so nothing unique about it but it is a pretty color

IMG_4091
Smart A Coral is a beautiful coral red color. Love it very much and don't think I have a color like it. It has amazing shine as well

IMG_4095
Head of the Class Green interesting green color. Make sure you put base coat on this one because it is the only one that stains out of the collection. It stained my skin as well so just be very careful when applying

IMG_4201
Magna Cum Laude Turquoise is a raspberry/sky blue color. Kind of reminds me of the slurpee blue color very bright and nice. I usually don't like blues on me especially darker ones but this light one doesn't look bad at all!

My favorite two colors in the collection are def Straight A Coral and Magna Cum Laude Turquoise for sure!!!

Price- $8 (Ind) or $25 (5-pack)

L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Polish

Got some more polishes to show you that Rite Aid sent me for review. Wanted to show you some more pretty colors from another popular drug store brand, L'Oreal. Here are swatches of two polishes from the Colour Riche Collection

IMG_4210
The two colors that were sent to me were Not a Cloud in Sight and Royal Reinvented. Isn't Rite Aid amazing at picking out colors for me to try?? Beautiful!!

IMG_4213
Not a Cloud in Sight is an aquarmarine cremem color. Sooooo pretty and it will look good on brown and light skin tone. It will also be a great base color for nail art

IMG_4219
The other color I got Royal Reinvented is a creme lavender color. Another color that would look nice and a great base coat. I kinda want to do a design with both of these colors.

Overall, this collection has over 42 different shades and I got my eyes on some of them. But I hope I showed you how pretty the two I got to try are! So gorgeous right??

Price-$4.99

Maybelline Color Show Polish

Now I know I've been doing a bunch of swatches on some pretty pricey polishes. As a student I know we can't all afford the name brand ones but there are plenty of affordable drug store brands with some amazing polishes. When Rite Aid had their Nail Extravaganza they sent me a bunch of drug store nail polishes including two new colors in the Maybelline Color Show collection.

IMG_4204
The two colors I got was #190 Coral Crush and # 320 Green with Envy. It's like the Rite Aid PR knew me the colors are beautiful.

 But how will they apply??

Let's see..

IMG_4207
Coral crush was applied with two coats. Uh gorgeous right?? It went on uniformly and has a nice shine. Beautiful color! It's like it was meant for my skintone lol!

IMG_4209
Green with envy is a mint green color!  Another beautiful color and it even looks good with my skintone but I bet it looks even better on lighter skin like my sister. Very very nice color!

I hope I showed you you don't need to spend a fortune to get some good color polishes! These cost like $3 and Maybelline has came out with a bunch of fun pretty new colors in their collection. Two of which are swatched above. Can't wait to see what other amazing colors they have!!

Price ~ $3
Where to find-drug stores such as CVS, walgreens, Target, Walmart, Ulta and etc.

Butter London Colour Clash Collection

Is everyone ready for fall collections?? Yay!! Today I have 2 polishes from the new Colour Clash Collection from Butter London. I was so excited to review some. Now this collection consists 6 colors and I got 3. I left the 3rd one out because I wanted to try a nail art design with it for another review so I have two to show you today.

IMG_4256
The polishes I have for you today are Silly Billy and Giddy Kipper

IMG_4238
Silly Billy is a tangerine or carrot orange. I know this will be a perfect color for nail art for Halloween and even thanksgiving. Two colors I hate are orange and yellow but I would def sport this color again. It looks nice on my skin tone and I know it will look nice on lighter skin tone. Def an orange I would wear again

IMG_4241
Giddy Kipper is a blue/purple creme color that I honestly feel that this photo doesn't capture the true beauty of this polish. It has a blue and violet shimmer to it. It is really gorgeous in person! I think it will def go in my favorite pile! Can't wait to wear it out!

Overall, these two colors are amazing. I am def going to go hunt for the neon pink and yellow ones because the two I have are very pretty. I will also do some sort of nail art with the white one I have called cotton buds. Hint-I am def impressed with it already. Go out and get you some of the Colour Clas Collection. You won't regret it! Very vibrant bright colors that are def worth it!!

Price-$15

Butter London Pop Art Collection

Don't you love the beginning of the seasons for winter, fall, and summer?? I know I do bc that means new collections come out for all my favorite nail brands!! Woo hoo!! I was so excited to get to review 2 of the 3 polishes for a company I have always loved... Butter London.

IMG_4198
The Pop Art collection consists of 3 polishes and I have two of them here today to swatch for you. There names are Cheeky chops and Keks.

I apologize in advanced for the condition of my fingers. I was sick and work in health care so I continually washed my hands and because of that my fingers were peeling. I work with such a sick population that I would rather have peeled skin over getting severely vulnerable patients sick. They are gone now but when I looked at these photos I was a little disgusted.

But back to the polishes...

IMG_4195
Cheeky chops isn't a new polish but it is new for me. It's a bright yellow creme color. Reminds me of a lemon drop kind of color. Very bright and surprisingly not bad with my skin tone. I thought I was going to look like a banana but it looks good.

IMG_4197
The second color is a new lacquer called Keks. It is a baby blue creme color. Reminds me of the pretty blue sky on a summer day. I think it would look really nice on light or brown skin tone. This would be an excellent base color for nail designs (even though I'm not good at it!)

Ps. Later on this week I will be swatching a few polishes from the upcoming fall collections... let me tease you by saying gorgeous!!

Price $15

Dermelect Summer Nail Collection

I first learned about Dermelect Polishes earlier this year when I bought some from bloom.com when they were clearancing all there warehouse. I loved the unique shape of the bottle and just the overall lettering even. Last time I got some bright fun colors that I love!! Recently Dermelect came out with a summer collection of four fun shades and I got two to swatch out for you all!

IMG_4199
The two shades I got to review are Moxie and Renegade

IMG_4185
Moxie is a bubble gum light pink color. I did two coats in my swatch and you can very lightly see my nail underneath so I might need one more coat. The bottle shape is perfect for allowing me to get perfect swatches where I don't have to keep adjusting my fingers to get the perfect shot.

IMG_4189
The second polish I got was renegade. Its a jade color that surprisingly my camera didn't alter the color it is pretty true to how the swatch here. I am not a blue or green fan more of a girl pink/purple but the color looks nice on my skin tone.

Overall, the colors I got were nice. I wish I would have got to see how the other 2 colors in the collection are which are a bright yellow and royal blue. I feel like those two colors are more unique. I am sure they are gorgeous.

Price- $14
Where to find- I know a lot of people have been asking and I am not sure if it is sold at any stores. So far I have only seen them online. There is a contact us link on their website that you can contact to see if any beauty shops near you sell them.

Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm

When I first the display for the new Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm I thought I have to have them all! The colors looked so beautiful with amazing pigmentation. What in intrigued me the most was the fact that it was a liquid lip balm. Now I don't know about you but I had to see what the texture was and how it differed from other lip balms and etc. The collection consists of 10 different shades of various purples, pinks, corals and nudes and since they only had 8 at my local store I went ahead and got them all.

IMG_4036
The colors I got were: Just Plum, Apple-a-day, Pink, Apricot, Cantaloupe, blooming, rosy lipped, and nudetrients.

Don't the colors look amazing??

IMG_4039
The first thing I had to examine is the texture. The wand looks like your everyday lip gloss one. The texture is a thick, when I touch it with my finger its a little on the sticky side so if your accidently touch it you def will have to wash your hands after. I like the feeling it has on my lips but def don't like the stickiness of it. And to me they felt like lip gloss I really didn't understand how they were considered liquid lip balm??

So how does the pigmentation look??

I picked 3 of the colors to try out

IMG_4061
The first color I chose was Pink. This color looks very pink and let me tell you it looks nothing like it does in that tube. If you look at my swatch it really only added a hint of pink on my lips and instead just looked like a clear gloss on.

IMG_4065
So I grabbed apricot since it was a deep color on the bottle and thought it def will show up on me. Again it adds a hint of color on my lips but I was expecting amazing bright color but you can still see my natural lip pigmentation on my lips.

IMG_4071
The last one I tried was the nudetriments one because it was the lightest one and thought this one will def show on my lips which are darker. Again, you can only see a slight pigmentation which def doesn't represent the color it appears on the bottle.

I also tried the Apple-a-day and Just plum but forgot to take pictures of those two and those being darker colors also showed little pigmentation. I am not sure if its because my lips are dark or what not but I think the pigmentation could be a lot better! Also another thing I want to add is they didn't last long either so I had to constantly re-apply the balm. Overall, I would have to pass on the Almay color + Care Liquid lip balm. If they had better pigmentation, better longeivity, and a more lip balm kind of texture. I honestly thought I was wearing lip gloss when I applied it. Bummed bc they were almost $6 each and I probably won't use them again.

What did you think of the Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm??

Price: $5.99 ea
Where to find- Any Drug stores- CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc.

Studio Gear CC Cream

Got another CC cream review for you today. Yesterday I did a drug store brand and today I decided to do a more pricey brand to see how it would compare. So excited I was able to review this brand as I am just starting to try their products.

IMG_4158
Just recently released the Studio Gear CC cream. The collection consists of 3 shades- Linen, Natural and Wheat. The goals of this cream is to brighten and luminate the skin.

IMG_4160
The formula is very similar to the L'Oreal BB cream I tried a while ago. While the cream is white it has little pigment beads that will transform it to your shade

IMG_4162
Here is how the CC cream first looke when I applied to my hand

IMG_4164
After I blended it you can see it adjusted to my skin
tone (right side) and def lightened it as compared to my left side which has no CC cream on it. I honestly feel that this swatch doesn't do justice as it def gives you great coverage.

So compared to the drug store CC cream would I use this one? The answer is...yes. I felt it had better coverage, it moisturized better and I just loved how it adjusted to my skin tone. As compared to a similar texture BB cream would I use this one? Yes again. The BB drug store brand I tried also adjusted to my skin tone but I felt when blended it gave me that cakey look and when I applied foundation it just wasn't right. The only thing I don't care for is the price as it's a little high for me as a student. But, I def do enjoy it and if I can ever buy one I will use it sparingly.

Price-$34
Where to find- Department stores such as Ulta, Dillards and maybe sephora.
