Karisma Balm

There are so many beauty subscriptions now-a-days each one is similar you get 4-5 samples of diff beauty products. Many months I have only like 1 out of 5 products and so most of the time the ones I didn't care for sort of just sit around until I give it away or throw it out. What if you could get a beauty subscription for a particular kind of beauty product every month? Like one of my favorite beauty products of all time is lip gloss. Did you know their is a monthly beauty subscription that sends out a lip balms each month?

Karisma Balm is not your ordinary beauty subscription. It is a lip balm only based company that offers hand made tinted lip balms each month.

Every month you get this cute little package

Inside is a lip balm as well as a Sugar Lip Scrub. This month I received Lemon Sorbet.

Here is what the lip balm and sugar scrub look like. Products are made free of sulfates, mineral oiles, parabens, phthalates, propylene, glycol and synthetic frangrances. Karisma strives to make their products out of natural ingredients including real fruit extracts for flavor and fragrance. They also contain shea butter, aloe vera gel, coconut oil and other moisturizing ingredients to help keep your lips healthy and nourished.

Overall, I love how fresh the lip balm smelled. You could def smell the lemon in it. It was light, was a natural tint and def moisturized my lips. Sugar Scrub for your lips? I know I thought the same thing but since my lips get chapped easily I decided to try it out. I loveeee the way it fells as I rub the sugar scrub all over and you know it is helping to remove dead skin and debris. It left my lips feeling really soft afterward. I def want to start using a sugar scrub on my lips now! It is so cool to learn about such a unique monthly subscription

Do you know any other unique subscriptions?

Price: $10/month

Pretty n Polished Swatches Part 1

I have been dying to get my hands on some Pretty & Polished Polishes so I am so excited to show you the swatches. Each swatch has two coats of polish w/o a top coat.

The two polishes I got here was Tart and Candy Coated.

Tart is a purple color with tons of glitter in white, pink, blue, and yellow.
Tart looks pretty dark in my indoor swatch.

In sunlight, Tart looks a lot lighter. I love how the glitter completely pops out in this polish and how well everything goes together.

Candy Coated is a baby pink polish with pink and purple glitter.
I lovvvvveee the color of this polish. It looks like a light natural pink color. And it makes me think of spreckled jelly beans.

The polish looks very light in sun but still looks very subtle and natural. Pink and purple are by far my favorite colors so I am excited that they are together in this polish. They look great together and I can't wait to wear this polish with some of my fav polishes.

Overall, I love my first Pretty & Polished Polishes! I ended up getting two more polishes I have been dying for and will post the review on them tomorrow. I love how fast these polishes dry, the pigment of the polish and how well the glitters stand out as well. They just look fabulous! I am def a new fan of P&P Polishes!

June Bloom Ambassador Box

Bloom.com is an exclusive online social beauty store that gives you personalized product recommendations based on their beauty matches. You can cannot with friends to see what types, shades and fav products are in their beauty cabinets as well as check out hundreds reviews to some of today's hottest products. I have been fortunate to get choses as a Bloom.com beauty ambassador. Each month I receive some products including some not out for the public yet to review. I review all these products monthly to show you some amazing products out their on Blooms website. Another awesome thing about Bloom.com is with each purchase you receive 10% rewards or bloom bucks back for future purchases.

Check out what I got to review this month!

Here is all the products I got in this month's box that will each be discussed below (The final product to the right was provided this month but will be tested by me over the next 3 months-Keep an eye out for that review in Sept!)

The first thing I got to check out was samples of two eye shadow palettes by Stila.

The first palette is In the garden which contains a lot of natural beige, brown, and green colors.

The second one is in the moment, a shadow with lots of purple and natural brown colors. I used this one to create my look.
I started off with a prime then used Instinct, light shimmery white color to the far white to add some shimmer to my upper eybrow area. Then I got Impulse the top second shadow, a light lavender color and using an all over brush padded that along my entire eyelid area. Then using Glance, the top third shadow, a grape color and using a crease brush sweeped it across my entire crease area. Finally I used the top fourth color, Improvise a darker purple color to rub over the edges of my eyelids. I then put eyeliner and mascara.

Here is my final look with the Stilla In the Moment palette.

Overall, I love how the palette have specific colors that they concentrate well together but the variation in the color are big. There are so many different purples and its cool to create a look based on all the diff kinds. The shadow lasted all day long and the pigmentation was great.

The next thing included in my ambassador box is Kaia Bamboo facial Cleansing cloths.

Made with 8 plant based essential oils, organic Canadian honey, sunflower oils and Vitamin's B12, C, and E these cloths cleanse, tone and remove all traces of makeup naturally. They contain no alcohol and synthetic fragrances so they are 100% biodegradable.
I removed half of my makeup with the Kaia cloth and to assess how the cloth worked. Here is my face with no makeup after wiping with the cloth and my makeup still on the righr side.  I then compared it with a department store facial cleanising cloth.

As compared to the department store facial cloth I felt that the Kaia was definitely refreshing and didn't have a harsh chemical smell like my department store wipe. It made my skin very mositurized and soft after unlike my department store wipe which made my face feel a little rough. My skin was not irritated by the wipe which is great. I did have to wipe it my eyes to get my mascara out but it did remove it all after the extra wipes with no trace of my eyeliner, shadow or mascara. I didn't like how small the wipe was and wish it would be a little bit bigger. But I love that each wipe was packaged individually which is great bc when using my department cleansing cloth they dry out pretty easy so I end up wasting some.

Overall, I would def use these wipes on the go as the individual packaging makes them so convenient. Its light and not harsh on my face.

The next product in my box was a very unusal product called Flirty Little Secret, a firming Bronzer containing phermones.
As I am already brown it is very rare for me to find a bronzer that doesn't make my skin look orange so of course I wasn't really looking forward to trying this product. I was pleasantly surprise when it on for the first time. Honestly it made my skin look super model color-the brown with a light a shimmer. I liked how my skin looked with this bronzer on and wore it everyday last week. It dries extremely quickly so you don't have to worry about it smearing everywhere. As far as more attraction from guys, I can't def conclude I got more attention bc I work with all girls.

Overall, if you want a nice natural bronze like J-lo I def recommend this product. It will give you a nice color without looking fake brown.

The final surprise in my ambassador box was this little gold box from Pacifica.

Inside was a bunch of lotions, lip glosses and a purfume. I wish you were here to smell the box the first time I opened it, it was amazing!

The 3 lotions I got were: Tuscan Blood Orange, Coconut Crushed Pearl and Indian Coconut Nectar. All of the lotions felt great on the skin, were unique flavors, and kept my arms/hands mositurized all day long. Blood orange was def a lotion I never heard of. Not a fan of orange when it comes to beauty product, this was def a interesting sweet smell but not too orangy. The coconut Crushed pearl was a bronzing lotion like the Booty Parlor but it was a lot lighter color and didn't add too much to my natural skin tone. It did have a slight shimmer as well. The last and my favorite was the Indian Coconut Nectar. I really love the unique combination of ingredients of this lotion. It def smelled unlike any other lotion. Even my bf liked the smell of it.
The next thing I got was two Color Quench Lip Tints in blood orange and coconut nectar. Both smelled just like their lotions I reviewed. Blood orange was a nice natural tint for my lips while the coconut nectar provided me a more beige color with a shimmer to it. It looked pretty good with my brown skin tone. Def a great summer color. The Lip Quenches are both made out of a bunch of vitamins and essential oils to help mositurize your lips while helping to soften them. I def like the color of the coconut nectar one as it was great with the bronzing powder I applied as blush. Def looked nice and tan and shimmery!

The last thing included in this box was the Island Vanilla Perfume. I hate hate hate Vanilla flavor. It gives me a headache so I was def not looking forward to try this purfume. But honestly it doesn't smell like the vanilla perfume I have smelled. It's light and has a more natural flavor with a hint of flower to me. And for me to admit that I liked a vanilla spray I would have to really like it bc Vanilla just isn't my fav flavor. I would def wear this.

Overall, I really enjoyed all the products I got to try for the first time. I def want to go and get the stila palettes and can't wait to use all of my products in the coming days. I love being a Bloom ambassador so I can let you know all about some amazing products. Interested in checking out/purchasing any of the products reviewed here?

Check out their Website to learn more! I have also provided the individual links of all the products in the order I described them! Hope you enjoyed learning about all these products. Can't wait to see what I get next month. Do you have anything on Bloom.com that you would like to see reviewed? I def want to hear about those products so I can provide suggestions to Bloom.coms Ambassador Representative!

Sally Hansen Lip Product

Drug Store Beauty products are back- today we will bew reviewing two lip products from Sally Hansen. As I always say I am a huge lip gloss fan so I am excited to finally try some drug store products.

Here is VitaC Lip Plumper and the Overnight Lip Rcovery.

VitaC Lip Plumper
  • Concentrated in vitamin C, a nutrient important in stimulating collage production to make your lips look fuller. It also contains Acai and pomegranate to help keep lips moisturized.
    • I love the overall feeling of this lip plumper, it is soooo soft unlike any other lip plumper.
    • My lips def feel mositurized
    • It has a light and non-overwhelming citrus smell
    • It doesn't have a pigment to it but it makes your lips nice and shiny.
    • My lips don't look like Angelina Jolie or anything but it does make them look a little bit (especially my bottom lip lol)

  • Overnight Lip Recovery
    • Helps to repair dry lips while you sleep.
    • It's fast absorbing and creates a weightless barrier to help combat nighttime water loss
    • I have extremely sensitive lips, like I cannot go without lip gloss bad!
    • They get dry really easy and bother my badly when they don't have lip gloss on them.
    • The consistency is slightly thicker than lip gloss but I loved the way it feels and it didn't bother me to fall asleep with.
    • You can def notice a diff when you wake up! I was so surprised at how soft your lips feel the next morning!

Overall, I am extremely surprised at how well these lip treatments are. If you want fuller lips or your lips are really chap and you are in desperate need for repair I would recommend giving these products a try. As usual, drus store beauty products are very affordable and you can get them from any department store!

Do you have use any other drug store lip treatments? I would love to learn about other ones I haven't tried.

June 2012 Birchbox

This months Birchbox was a travel theme and included things that could be carried on your carry-on. There focus was makeup that you could take for on the go.

Here is what it looked like upon opening the box.

Here is a breakdown of what I got in my box.
  • Eyeko Fat Eye Stick in Chocolate Brown. I love the color of the shadow stick. It's a dark brown color with a shimmer to it, glides on skin extremely easily and when put with a primer lasts all day long.
  • Likewise Facial Moisturizer + Sun protectant. Honestly nothing special about this moisturizer. I have tried a bunch and I don't think anything stands out about this one.
  • theBalm Stainiac. I love bold dark blush that actually show on my brown skin and i felt like this came on so light on my cheeks. Also tried it on my lips and it was sooo light too. I use to use Benetint back in the day and that one is def more pigmented to me.
  • Comodynes Self Tanning Wipes. As I am already brown I didn't really need to use these. Plus I'm scared about tanners and turning orange. =(
  • Far back Tili bag (can see the zipper). I honestly didn't understand why they included a pretty much ziplock bag in my box. I def would have rather had another sample instead.
Overall, I wasn't too impressed with the box this month. If anything I would prob only go buy a full size Eyeko eye Stick. Come on Birchbox-step it up! As always these are my own personal opinions and maybe others really loved this box and all the products included. I only hope we get a good July one but I always am optimismic.

June 2012 MyGlam Bag

The June theme for MyGlam is “Out All Night”
The back itself is a shimmery gold color which is buttoned in the front instead of having to be zippered like the other bags. Check out what was inside!

  • Philosophy Take A Deep Breath Oil-free Energizing Oxygen Gel Cream Moisturizer. I have tried plenty of lotion mositurizer so it was really cool that we got a gel mositurizer this month. First off, it doesn't irritate my skin, has a light scent, and does not make my skin oily. It's def something I would like to try more.
  • Living Proof frizzNourishing Styling Cream. I am def looking for some good anti-frizz treatment for my hair and was excited to try this. I applied this to my hair after a shower. While it helped my frizz a tiny bit I noticed it made my hair extremely oily like I didn't wash my hair for a few days oily. Wasn't happy about that since I had just washed my hair. Thus, I am still on the hunt for an anti-frizz product!
  • Marbella Permanent Eyeliner Pen. This liner looks just like a sharpie pen its crazy! I love how easily it goes on your eye. It takes getting use to as it feels like your writing on your face but it stayed on me all day and I did not get any smudges. Wonder if its waterproof?
  • NYX Round Lipstick in Eucalyptus. Didn't even both trying this since its a glittery pink lipstick. I don't look good with fuschia on my lips and I am also not a big fan of glittery lipstick. I did swatch it and notice it comes off easily too =(

  • Overall, this month's bag was def not my favorite. I can't honestly say I loved anything and would def use it. Hopefully next month will be better!
    Price: $10/month

MyGlam is a monthly sample program that delivers 4-5 beauty products in a design makeup bag that changes each month. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Color

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Polishes aim to strengthen and shine your natural nails giving you protection for breaking or chipping. Their made with real micro-diamonds & platinum which gives each polishes its shine! And this collection collection consists of 32 different shades. Check out my swatches to 3 polishes in this collection. Each swatch was achieved with 2 coats and overall durability and shininess was assessed.

3K or more, Diamonds and Rubies

is a bubble gum pink with a slight blue/violet shimmer in it.

3K or more is a nude color with lots of shimmer in it. Like the name it def looks like a golden shiny polish! I was soooo surprised it looked good on me bc I thought this color was a light skin tone color.

Diamonds and Rubies is a super shiny cherry red color. This was def the shiniest of all 3 polishes and tryst me it did not have a top coat it is just that awesome!

Overall, ever since I have been using these polishes I noticed a diff in my brittle thin little nails. They are def getting a bit stronger and growing! I also love the variety of colors that are in this collection. Don't forget their is a $1 off Sally Hansen coupon on coupons.com so def print that out for a even bigger savings!

    glo-minerals Under Eye Primer

I don't know about you guys but I'm not getting any younger! And lately I have been getting less and less sleep which have led to dark circles under my eyes. Today I will be reviewing a Under Eye Primer by glo-minerals. Serving as an anti-aging regimen, the Under Eye Primer aids in minimizing appearance of imperfections by filing in the fine lines while also using pigments to help decrease the dark circles/wrinkles underneath the eyes. I don't have wrinkles yet but I don't see why I shouldn't start now.

The under eye primer is a light beige color. Here is how it looks on my arm. What I like is that the color will go well with light and dark colors.

You can blend it in as much/little as you want it to. Even with a tan skin tone it really blends well under my eyes. The best thing to do is apply this primer just before you put your foundation on.

Overall, I have def noticed a dramatic diff in the dark circles under my eyes. Sometimes getting only 5 hrs of sleep, the area under my eye was getting pretty puffy and dark and I have noticed since I started using this product my face has def looked refreshed even though my body is not lol! Now I don't have to worry about people looking at my dark/puffy eyes anymore and will look like I actually slept well. And by using this early, I will help eyes not all of a sudden get wrinkles! I am sure the future me would come back and thank me now!

    Duality Cosmetics Nail Pak

Afternoon ladies! You know I love trying new product you have never heard of! Today I would like to introduce you to the Nail Pak by Duality. Ever chip/break your nails really bad at work and wish you would fix it but 1.) You don't have any nail polish remover 2.) You have no nail file! Well with the Nail Pak your problem is solved. This new patented 3-in-1 nail care system helps you remove, file and polish! This unique and portable nail system is patented in an easy, convenient package.
Each Dual pak includes a polish on the top half that is connected to a black holder for the nail file as well as 40 pre-soaked non-acetone pads below it.

Separating the Nail file and pads is extremely easy. Notice on the top picture their is a little black tab on covering the nail file all you do is move it up and using your nails pop the nail file off.

This will then expose the pre-soaked non-acetone pads perfect for removing that chipped/damaged nail.  And now that you removed the polish you just need to repaint your nail.

Here is a swatch of one of the colors in the Duality Nail Pak Collection, Ellen. It is a light blue/green color. Doesn't it look so pretty in the sun?

Overall, I think this is the coolest nail invention ever. I mean it is so convenient and you don't have to haul around all these individual components when you can just pop this right in your purse. You have everything you need to do a quick touch up or complete repair. There are 18 polishes in this collection and I don't know about you but I am excited to see what other things Duality will create. NYC Face Makeup

Its Summertime which means tan skin! And brings out your tan even more? Bronzing and Highlighting Powder of course! Today's Beauty Drug Store review is on NYC Sun n' Bronze collection. The two products I will discuss today are the Bronzing Powder and Highlighter.

     Hamptons Radiance and Heat Wave

Hampton's radiance contains a light shimmer, peach shimmer and bronzing powder while Heat wave is a light shimmery highlighter.

Here are the Swatches of Hamptons radiance and Heat wave. You can def see a light brown shimmery color on the bronzer which you can make more shimmery or brown by sweeping your brush more on the color you are looking for. I just love to mix them all and get a look like the one seen above. Heat wave is a light shimmery highlighter that def brings out your cheek bones upon application. I got a little more tan in Vegas so these colors look even more nice on me! But they def look well on lighter skin as well (my sister tried it and it looked great). Both of these powder's are perfect to give you that sun kiss summer look you want and all at an affordable price!
