WnW Color Icon Bronzer SPF 15

Continuing on my hunt to find a good drug store bronzer!

IMG_4153
One that has caught my eye is the Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer with Spf 15. I got the deepest brown there was as I am brown skinned. I got #739 Ticket to Brazil.

IMG_4154
The size of the palette is really good for the price you pay. One thing I dislike is when you swipe your brush along it you get a lot of excess powder. I try to pay the excess powder to use for my other side of my face but you get excess powder doing that. I don't know about you but I am very resourceful and it sucks to have to throw out all the excess powder in the garbage but I would rather do that then have it make a mess in my bag.

IMG_4157
As far as the color goes its a hint of golden brown. It comes off good on my skin tone but I notice that the color quickly fades. So you will def have to continually touch it up if you want to maintain your look all day long.

Overall, while I like the color I don't think I would get another palette. I don't mind retouching it during the day once or so you def would have to do that with this palette. I also really don't like getting a lot of excess powder when applying so although it is extremely affordable I am going to have to pass next time. The Fergie bronzer is still my #1 to see my review click here

Price- $3.99
Where to find- any drug store such as CVS, Walgreens, Target, Walmart or

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour foundation

I have been dying literally to try the Tarte Amazonian clay bc I have only heard good things about it. As I am on a budget I wouldn't let myself buy the foundation and brush alone. But thanks to Mercedes the blogger behind Beyond Beauty Lounge, she let me know when there was an amazing deal on QVC. They not only had a special where you would pay 5 payments instead of it all in full but it was a duo foundation kit that also came with the special buffer bamboo brush that I heard is amazing!

IMG_4165
So here it is the Tarte Amazonian Foundation in tan with the brush

IMG_4166
The bamboo which normally sells for $32 itself (get it through QVC ladies!) is super super super soft lol! Absolutely amazing. It blends amazing and I am left with perfect foundation and no blotches!

IMG_4167
I am sorry if this grosses anyone out but I really wanted to show you the consistency of this foundation. Very creamy and you can tell that it will have good coverage.

IMG_4168
Here is my hand without foundatio on the left and with foundation on the right. The color is lighter but my face is also lighter brown. Look at that coverage! Seriously I have not found a good foundation in a while and I am def in love with this foundation! It just makes my skin look so even and amazing! And the brush is to die for. This is my new favorite foundation for sure!!!

If your on a budget I suggest getting it when QVC has a special bc you can get a really good deal!!

Price on QVC-$48.92 (Duo foundation + brush)
Normally $38 for foundation alone
$32 for brush along
Where to find: Qvc.com, or any makeup stores

June 2013 Ipsy Bag

Woo hoo its beauty subscription time! This month I got my regular subscription, Ipsy and I am trying another one which I review later this week. Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription I have been getting for over a year. Every month is a new theme and you not only get a new designed bag every month but you also get 4-5 products in it! It is by far the best of the beauty subscriptions I have tried!

So let's get to it!
IMG_4049
This month's theme is "On the wild side" so it made me think of wild animals like tigers, lions, and such.

IMG_4050
This is the bag we got this month! Now I am usually not a cheetah print fan but the neon yellow stripe in this bag just takes it to another level! This months and last months bag have def been the best ones yet so I hope they keep the person designing the bags bc they are doing a great job!!!

IMG_4051
You guys in suspense wondering what I got this month?? Good!!!

IMG_4052

Inside my bag this month..
1.  Freeman Beauty Psst Dry Shampoo-Excited to try a dry shampoo. It is always convenient on those lazy days when you just don't feel like washing your hair
2. Cailyn Cosmetics Gel eye liner in purple-When I went to IMATs this year I was dying to try this brand but it was $20 and I was on a budget. So I am so excited we got a free full size one! Purple isn't the usual color I use but if I like it that much I will get it in black
3. NYX Blush in orange-Surprisingly this blush is very pigmented. You only need a little for your look
 4. J. Cat Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette in suzie-This is way too glittery for me. Wish it had some matte colors as well. Prob won't use this.
 4. Starlooks Lip pencil in Tickle me pink-I don't really use lip liner so I probably won't use this either

Overall, love my bag this month! I will def use the blush, dry shampoo and eye liner but not the cream palette or lip liner. So def not bad that I like 3/5 stuff. Can't always like everything. Love the sizes of the products and the fact that they aren't teeny weeny little samples. Ipsy always surprises me and I love that! I always feel I get my $10 dollars worth for sure!!

Did you enjoy your bag this month?

MyGlam is a monthly sample program that delivers 4-5 beauty products in a design makeup bag that changes each month. Some items sent are samples while others are full-of right now they are sold out. Just keep checking, I waited for about a month and half before I got in.  You can subscribe to them by visiting myglam.com

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser Challenge

Hi all my name is Marisa and I suffer from Oily skin. There I said it! I actually had pretty good skin my whole life up until I moved to Dallas last year. The humidity has really made my skin make a complete 180 degree turn and now my face is pretty oily in my T-zone: forehead and nose. And because I am constantly sweating I have a bunch of little pimples on my forehead area. Having bangs doesn't help either. I have been desperate to clear my forehead area. I have tried a bunch of other drug store brands that have helped maintain my current state meaning I haven't gotten more pimples but I wasn't able to clear my forehead up.

So when neutrogena contacted me and asked me if I wanted to take part in the 7-day challenge of there new Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser I decided what the heck!!

IMG_4124
The Ultra Gentle Cleanser is meant for people with sensitive skin. My skin is usually pretty good but I do like to try products that won't be harsh to my face.

IMG_4125
Just put a little bit of the cleanser on your hand and add a little water and lather it up to a foam

IMG_4130
I was expecting a little more of a foam but I could never get it! One thing I wasn't fond of was the smell it was a sweet smell. It wasn't harsh but just different than ones I have smelled before.

I repeated this cleanser for a full week. I never got any breakouts or bad reactions with it!

So did I see a difference in my face from continual use with this product??

IMG_4139
The first thing I noticed was my skin was soft and second was a shock to me...

IMG_4141
The pimples on my forehead got better where you could hardly see them! Umm yes almost clear forehead!!! I couldn't believe it when I saw it!

And while I do still have oily skin my little acne prone areas have def approved.

Screen shot 2013-06-20 at 10.45.07 PM

Here is a screen shot of my Ultra Gentle Cleanser Challenge. I was looking to try something new. After a week use my skin feels cleaner and refreshed and pimple free! I felt like it cleaned my forehead better than my previous cleanser. The scent is mild and that would probably be the only thing I would change about it. The best part was it cleans pretty good. It def is something I have been looking for I mean it cleared my forehead what more can you ask for!!!

So would I recommend it?? I def would!! For people who have sensitive skin looking for something to clean deep down in there pores!!

Price- $8.99
Where to find- Any drug stores: CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Target and etc.

Neutrogena has an amazing offer! Take the cleanser challenge like me and get a coupon for $2 off! How amazing is that. Follow the link below to take the assessment!

Physicians Formula Organic wear Jumbo Lash Mascara

The other day I did a review on a Lancome mascara that not only costed $28 dollars but I wasn't impressed. Needless to say I was on the hunt for a way cheaper mascara that would get the job done!!

IMG_3997
The other day CVS was having a big sale on Physicians Formula products so I decided to try out the Organic wear Jumbo Lash Mascara.

IMG_4007
First thing I like to do is look at the brush on my mascaras. I can tell by the spacing and way the bristles are if I will get clumps. You can tell the bristles here have a good amount of space in between one another and you don't see too much excess mascara on it. Good sign!!

Now to compare my lashes with mascara and without to see its results!!

IMG_4008
My lashes although very long are flat and feathery lol! I look for a mascara that not only lengthens them and keeps it like that but one that adds volume and leaves them nice and thick. Left side is with mascara and right side is without. You can see right away that the mascara def lengthens my lashes! First good sign!

IMG_4010

Next, I wanted to compare the volume capabilities of the mascara. Again left side has mascara and right side is without. You can def see that it adds a little bit of volume to my lashes. Not the best I have seen but then again not the worst. The brush made it easy to apply uniformly and didn't get clumps!

Overall, I say it is pretty good. Good length and okay volume! Def better to me than Lancome and a heck of a lot cheaper. So this just shows you not all luxury brands are great! Some drug store brands can still give you the same results with half the price if not more!!

Price- $9.99
Where to find: any drug stores- CVS, Walgreens, Target, Walmart

Almay Smart Shade Bronzer

I have been on the hunt for really good bronzer since summer is here!! Last week I tried the Fergie one from WnW and loved it and saw the new Almay Smart shade one the other day and had to give it a try

IMG_3987
I chose #40 Sunkissed because it was the darkest of the other colors and so I thought it would look better with my skin tone.

IMG_3988
Containing 3 different shades on the bronzer- a dark, medium brown and light color used for highlighting the combination of all 3 should give you a perfect bronzing look for all skin tones.

IMG_4035
I wanted to see how the product looked on my inner arm which is lighter than my face and I will know how it will look on me. As you can see from my swatch you barely see the bronzer on me.

On my face- you can't even tell I have anything on. Okay it does but its very very light and you can see the glitter shimmer more than anything. Personally, I liked the WnW pigmentation way more than this. It looked more golden and really brought out my cheekbones. So sad, I really wanted to like this but unfortunately I am going to have to say Fail in my book. It probably will show up better on lighter skin but for some reason it doesn't show up on me. Plus the Fergie one is like 4 dollars cheaper and is bigger. But this is my personal opinion so its all up to you =)

Price-$9.99

Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara

What is your favorite app for your smartphone? Mine is def Wrapp. If you haven't heard about this app its basically one where you can send virtual gift cards to your FB friends. Some are free and some you have the option of purchasing ones. Most free ones range from $5-10 depending on what company they feature. A few weeks ago I got a Lancome $10 wrapp card from my friend. I waited for the right moment when Lancome offered free shipping for any purchase and I got a mascara. I have never tried any Lancome product and was super excited!!!

IMG_3990
I chose a mascara which was originally $28 which I def wouldn't normally buy.

IMG_3996
The mascara I chose was the Hypnose Drama mascara. First off it was the first snake or S-shaped mascara I have seen so I had to see what it offered. To me the shape would make it easier to reach the inner/outer lashes you normally can't reach and it would be easier to uniformly put the mascara on.

IMG_4002
The first thing I noticed was it added pretty good length as you can see on my lashes with the left hand side containing mascara and the right hand side with nothing

IMG_4006
Side view of mascara side (left) and regular lashes side (right)

IMG_4003
As far as volume goes I didn't see a dramatic thickness to them that I usually like. In fact its pretty hard for me to tell the difference between my lashes with mascara (left ) and without (right) in terms of thick voluminous ones.

And while the mascara offered pretty good length at first within 10 minutes my lashes didn't stay in place long and dropped down where I needed to re-curl them a bunch of times. I def was not liking that as I like mascaras that can stay in place for a little while. The brush shape is really cool but to me there was no added benefit for it. I could easily reach every lash by carefully using my wand to each area.

So would I ever pay $28 again for this mascara?
The answer is no... and I am kind of disappointed bc being a Lancome product I guess I expected more. I know a lot of drug store brands that can do the same thing as this one. Def not impressed.

Where to buy: Any department store (Macy's, Nordstrom, etc.)

Hydroxatone Anti Aging BB Cream

I recently joined iFabbo an amazing international organization for Fashion and Beauty Bloggers! I am so excited to be apart of the iFabbo family and can't wait to review some well known companies!

IMG_3938
So here is my very first product I got to review the Hydroxatone Anti-Aging BB Cream!

IMG_3939
This BB cream is supposed to hydrate, conceal, protect, reduct the look of aging, and brightens skin

IMG_3940
If your looking for good coverage you will def get that with this BB cream. It is very creamy and a little def goes a long way

IMG_3941
I compared how my skintone on my hand normally looks and to compare it to the BB cream I applied to the right side of my hand. First off you can def see the brightening effects of it. So if you have pigmentation or blemishes it will help brighten and conceal those. The coverage is pretty good as well! I have been using it for 2 weeks and while I don't notice any anti-aging results ( I am not at that point in life for lines/wrinkles yet which is why I don't see a difference) I did not break out or anything when using this product.

Overall, this BB cream is better than others I have tried for sure but the only thing that concerns me is the price. I for one am on a budget so in real life I probably couldn't afford this BB cream. But if you can afford it and your looking for a good an anti-agining product that brightens and conceals, this BB cream is worth the try

Price $59.95
Where to find: Macy's, Ulta, or online

Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection-Shimmer Palette

I had some Register Rewards to waste the other day and I wanted to a nice baked blush and was torn between a Milani one and a Wet n wild one. I have been meaning to try a Fergie Centerstage collection product so I ended up getting the shimmer palette from Wet n Wild

IMG_3946
First thing I noticed was the how big the palette is. Def get more for your money in this palette as compared to a milani baked blush hands down

IMG_3949
There were a few colors but I chose to go with Rose Golden Goddess as I thought it would complement my skin tone the best.

IMG_3951
I have seen a lot of swatches and photos of the Rose Golden Goddess before and they all looked more pinkish but I can assure you this is far from pink. It definitely has more of a orange-brown color on it with hints of a lighter shimmer to it. I was scared at first if it was going to be a dramatic shimmer but it had so much of the darker pigment I figured it wouldn't be too bad

IMG_3954
On my skin tone it def seemed more golden brown than orange (seen a more orange tone on lighter skin reviews). When applied to my face which is darker than my inner arm where I tend to swatch it looked amazing. Like I feel this color was meant for a tan skin tone. It really just brought out my brown color and the shimmer was light and not overwhelming at all. I personally think it looked nice on the lighter skin tone swatches I seen but it does look amazing on tan people. But it stayed on for like 4 hours for me and by the end of the day it was long gone without a trace. But I tend to see that happen with most blushes I use. I rarely ever get a blush with amazing longevity.

Overall for the price of this product compared to the smaller size baked blushes I've seen it is def worth it bc the size of the palette is amazing! Loved the way it made my skin tone pop. Shimmer was not overwhelming. Only thing is it didn't last all day but you can easily re-apply mid-day. So I probably will try more Wet n Wild products in the future.

Price ~$4.99
Where to find-any drug store-CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc.

Hold me Company

With all my traveling lately and my upcoming move I have been getting into makeup organizers like crazy! I just love learning about all the companies and different types of bags there are out there! As I have lots and lots of makeup it is great to find ways to store them especially for cross country road trips lol! So when Hold me company asked me to try their unique version of a makeup organizer I couldn't resist

IMG_3686

Hold me bag is very unique bc it can be rolled into a hand bag so to speak or actually kind of like a wrislet but minus the strap and for makeup only! Also its made from the vegan suede fabric. Bags also come with a little design in each and they have a bunch of prints.

So let's check out whats inside the bag!!!
IMG_3958
There are two main components in this bag the top one and bottom. Lets see what you can put in the top portion of the bag.

IMG_3959
The top portion of the bag is mainly for storage of brushes. Each individual pocket is big so you can git quite a few brushes in each one. There is a flap that closes the brushes to protect them.

IMG_3961
The bottom portion is a big bag that you can hold endless things with.

Let's see the different ways I used mine....

IMG_3960
One thing you can do is take a bunch of palettes with you. There is a little slot that can hold things like eye liners, mascaras or little palettes while the rest of the bag can hold more bulkier palettes

IMG_3962
Another way I used my bag was to hold blushes. I only posted a few of mine here but you can def stack a bunch of them in it.

IMG_3963
The last thing I stored with my Hold me Bag is of course... nail polish! I just threw a few in there but you could def take polishes to go on your trip or whatever.

So as you can see the possibilities to use this bag are endless. Going for a night out with the girls after work? No problem just fill your bag, tie it up, and carry it like a hand bag! It is really cool. The only thing I would say is the downside is the price. The bag I have right here is called Dear Daphne and runs for $55 dollars. As a college student I def couldn't afford it in the real world.

Price- $55
